Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Accounting Analyst to join our Record-to-Report (R2R) team. This role involves performing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement within a shared services environment. The position requires strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

 

What Shared Services Does:
A Shared Services Center (SSC) centralizes essential business processes, creating streamlined operations, cost efficiencies, and consistent quality. By consolidating areas such as finance, procurement, payroll, and reporting, SSC fosters innovation, supports strategic goals, and enhances organizational effectiveness. SSC’s primary functions include:

  • O2C (Order-to-Cash): Ensures smooth revenue processes from customer order to payment.
  • R2R (Record-to-Report): Provides accurate financial reporting and robust accounting processes.
  • P2P (Procure-to-Pay): Ensures timely payments to vendors and strengthens supplier relationships.
  • Center of Excellence: Champions innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Shared Services empowers companies to focus on strategic priorities while maintaining operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to optimize accounting processes.
  • Assist with month-end closing, reconciliations, and preparation of journal and general ledger entries.
  • Perform consolidations, eliminations, and inventory accounting & analytics.
  • Support cash accounting and cost accounting activities related to subcontractor, labor, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity with the chart of accounts and SAP code block elements (e.g., profit center and cost center hierarchies).
  • Collaborate with teams across localized operating companies to ensure seamless accounting processes.
  • Identify and promote process improvements, including automation initiatives, to gain efficiencies.
  • Monitor adherence to accounting controls and operational safeguards.
  • Provide guidance to team members as needed.
  • Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, supporting professional development and innovative thinking within the team.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (required).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting functions (required).
    • At least 2 years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP in a shared services environment (required).
    • Familiarity with designing and standardizing transactional processes (preferred).
    • Working knowledge of the building products/construction industry (preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities across diverse audiences.
    • Familiarity with GAAP, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
    • Proven skills in process improvement and technology-enabled efficiency gains.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a collaborative culture.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Team-oriented mindset with a focus on customer service excellence.

 

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with 3 days in office and fully in office for the first 6 months.
  • Typical office setting with a quiet noise level.
