Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting

Manage accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger maintenance.

Prepare and issue timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage the monthly "close" process, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and P&L discrepancies are corrected.

Coordinate with external CPA firms for annual audits, reviews, and tax preparation.
Project Accounting & Cost Control

Develop and maintain sophisticated work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and percentage-of-completion accounting.

Oversee labor burden calculations and ensure accurate overhead absorption across all projects.

Partner with project managers to review budget-to-actual variances and identify potential slippage early in the project lifecycle.

Manage subcontractor compliance, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and payment cycles.
Treasury & Risk Management

Monitor daily cash flow and develop long-term cash forecasting models.

Manage banking relationships and oversee credit facilities or revolving lines of credit.

Ensure rigorous internal controls are in place to protect company assets and prevent fraud.

Oversee business insurance programs, including general liability, workers' compensation, and bonding requirements.
Strategic Planning & Systems

Lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts.

Utilize and optimize construction-specific ERP systems (e.g., Buildertrend, Sage, or Vista) to improve data integrity and reporting speed.

Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) focused on liquidity, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Document and enforce formal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all financial workflows.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA designation is highly preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the commercial construction industry.

Technical Skills: * Deep understanding of GAAP as it relates to construction (Percentage of Completion).

Proficiency in construction management software and advanced Excel modeling.

Experience managing complex labor burden and indirect cost allocations.

Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong ethical compass, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business advice.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
