PRIMARY PURPOSE: Housby is seeking a detail-oriented, energetic, and mechanically inclined professional to join our fast-paced Parts Department. The Back Parts Counter Representative is responsible for accurately identifying, sourcing, and issuing parts and accessories to internal customers in a timely and error-free manner. This role plays a critical part in supporting Service operations and ensuring an exceptional internal customer experience.
EXPECTATIONS:
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties as assigned.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with technicians and internal departments.
- Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
- Accurately identify, pull, and issue parts from inventory.
- Provide timely and accurate quotes, including pricing and availability, to internal customers.
- Maintain working knowledge of products, equipment, and services.
- Advise internal customers on part applications, features, and usage.
- Process parts orders, credits, and returns accurately.
- Inspect returned parts to determine warranty or defect status and facilitate exchanges or credits.
- Deliver parts to service bays as needed.
- Assist with restocking inventory and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Participate in ongoing job-related training and professional development.
- Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Prior heavy-duty truck parts experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of parts inventory systems and processes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Experience with ADP Dealer System preferred.
- Ability to assess and interpret customer needs effectively.
- Forklift operation experience preferred; ability to operate safely required.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends as business needs require.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work at a computer and perform alphanumeric data entry.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
- Regular use of both hands for handling parts and equipment.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical, vibrations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
- Works primarily indoors.
