MitRes Services, a fast-emerging and expansion-focused division of Mitigation Resources of North America, is seeking a business development manager who will serve as a key driver of the division’s long-term growth strategy.
This role is responsible for identifying, shaping and advancing early-stage project opportunities that elevate our market position and backlog. The business development manager cultivates strategic relationships with contractors, engineers, municipalities and regulatory partners to gain upstream insight into capital plans and position MitRes ahead of procurement cycles. Working closely with internal leadership, this position ensures each pursuit aligns with organizational capabilities and strategic priorities — directly impacting revenue growth, competitive advantage and MitRes Services’ ability to capitalize on emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving market.
Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
- Identify and secure large, multi-million-dollar dirt work and infrastructure projects, including those not widely publicized or still in pre‑RFP stages.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of future projects through early engagement and proactive market intelligence.
- Develop trusted relationships with key partners before opportunities are posted publicly, positioning Mitigation Resources as the first call.
- Leverage industry relationships and networks to gain early access to opportunities and facilitate warm introductions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with top general contractors, engineering firms and municipal leaders.
- Work with operations personnel to identify new markets and prospective business opportunities and expand relationships with the existing customer base.
- Travel to meet with existing and prospective customers to sustain and grow relationships.
- Position the company as a preferred partner for Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Time & Material contracts
- Develop and maintain a 12- to 24-month forecast of projects aligned with company growth goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, business, marketing or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of business development experience in construction or similar industries.
- Proven success in securing large, multi-year projects and developing strategic partnerships.
- Established network across contractors, engineering firms, municipalities and industry associations.
- Strong understanding of construction services, operations and environmental compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to build early-stage, trust-based relationships to access opportunities before public release.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Highly driven, customer-focused and skilled at identifying emerging opportunities.
- Strong strategic planning ability, with a focus on prioritizing high-value targets and aligning resources ahead of demand.
- Ability to travel regionally for meetings, networking and industry engagement.
