Position Title: Business Development Representative
Position Overview:
The Business Development Representative is a member of the Sales team and will be expected to evaluate the market, identify opportunities, develop business relationships, and help our clients accomplish their objectives. This position is a key role early in the sales process which requires focused market evaluation of appropriate opportunities where Corporate Environments can add value to the customer. The Business Development Representative will be expected to manage multiple accounts to achieve sales volume, gross profit, quality of service and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
▪ Identify and build strong relationships with the key influencers around commercial building design and construction, including architects, consultants, general contractors, building owners, facility managers and brokers ▪ Develops and directs the selling process for multiple solution categories flowing into Corporate Environments. Implement market and service strategies for all products and services ▪ Diagnoses customers’ business issues and needs and translates these into compelling solutions for Corporate Environments and partners in our community ▪ Evaluate intelligence on product performance, competition and end user attitudes to determine any problems / solutions and opportunities ▪ Negotiates pricing and contracts with support of the executive management team ▪ Lead generation by actively network in the market by attending events, conferences, trade shows, and local chapter meetings ▪ Engage with clients from the beginning of the sales cycle through project completion to help ensure client satisfaction ▪ Coordinate with Corporate Environments resources as needed to ensure a successful client experience (i.e., Client Services, Marketing, Project Management, Design, and Accounting) ▪ Assist in development of RFP’s, RFI’s, and presentations for key accounts ▪ Prepares sales forecasts for use in planning operations resources ▪ Actively participate in regular pipeline reviews, ensuring all CRM records are up to date and critical success factors are identified for key opportunities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
▪ Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the commercial building construction or interiors industry ▪ Required undergraduate degree in business, construction management, engineering, architecture or equivalent ▪ Preferred training in advance selling such as Challenger, Value Based Selling or equivalent ▪ Strong familiarity of B2B sales in the building materials industry ▪ Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level ▪ Proven ability to research potential clients and develop an effective sales strategy ▪ Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills ▪ Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office ▪ Working knowledge of a CRM platform ▪ Strong professional initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and the required follow-up ▪ Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills ▪ Ability to meet deadlines and complete assignments with a sense of urgency ▪ Intrinsically motivated with a proactive mindset to understand problems, offer solutions, and build relationships
