Role Definition
Provides solutions for IT and business management on applying technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications.
Responsibilities
Provide consulting services to internal finance groups on process improvement projects designed to improve their business results.
Analyze, define and document client's requirements, and revise existing systems logic challenges, as necessary.
Monitor client experiences and feedback on the use of Oracle EPM applications; enhance system productivity, as needed.
Participate in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems that are cost effective and meet business requirements.

Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Level Extensive Experience:
Participates in application design reviews and walkthroughs.
Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.
System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Level Extensive Experience:
Designs and develops applications or technology interfaces
Documents existing best practices for system or technology integration processes.
Identifies and quantifies risks of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative.
Delivers training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.
Discusses with line areas on data, technology and application integration issues.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Extensive Experience:
Participates in the testing of complex, multi-platform and distributed applications.
Designs processes to ensure that the system meets and maintains requirements and expectations.
Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
Level Extensive Experience:
Emphasizes the business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution so that problems can be avoided in the future.
Creates trouble reports for all issues found and reviews solutions for completeness and correctness.
Directs the resolution of communications problems in multi-vendor environments.
Resolves a variety of hardware, software, and communications malfunctions.
Facilitates the distribution of releases reports and correction packages to departments or clients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year college or university degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.
Strong candidates will also have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience implementing EPM technologies that include, but not limited to – account reconciliations, financial close/consolidations, allocations, planning, budgeting & forecasting.
Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
Compensation & Benefits:
Summary Pay Range: $94,728.00 - $151,572.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
