We are currently seeking a qualified Civil Superintendent to join our Construction team, based out of Northern Nevada. In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. With the opportunity to work on Thacker Pass, this innovative EPCM project with Lithium Americas once complete, will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the country – enough to power 1 million electric vehicles annually! The position will be a 6 on, 2 off rotation within the state of Nevada. The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Previous experience on major projects (PFE Tier II - exceeding $1B and/or 1500 craft workers) or those with increased complexity, performs the duties of the Project Field Engineer, responsible for coordination of all activities related to the area of responsibility and interfacing with all other operating sections of the jobsite.
• Proactively engages with their teams’ development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedback
• Develops and recommends the construction engineering staffing plan for approval by the Site Manager (or appropriate level of Project Management) and prepares employee requisitions.
• Directs construction engineering activities of the assigned construction engineering staff, ensuring compliance with procedures.
• Directs the design of temporary construction facilities as required.
• Directs preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, and equipment.
• Possesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.
Safety / Quality Control
• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
