CoMET Lab Technician I

Mission/ Position Description Summary 
The duties described below for a Laboratory Technician serves as guidance.  Personnel should become proficient in the test procedures of all departments to increase their usefulness to the company.  Detailed project procedures will be provided by the project manager/and or supervisor.

•    Perform basic laboratory testing
•    Perform advanced testing under the supervision of more senior staff
•    Document work performed by number of tests or time spent, as appropriate
•    Communicate test results to client when required
•    Provide support on engineering projects as directed
•    Assist other personnel at the direction of manager
•    Perform duties in a safe, cheerful, efficient, and workmanlike manner
•    Maintains assigned equipment
•    Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects

Additional Key Expectations
•    Responsible for making sure that all laboratory work performed meets or exceeds the minimum requirements set forth in the quality manual. 
•    Responsible for making sure that laboratory has the appropriate resources in place to execute testing per applicable standards. This includes but is not limited to acquiring and maintains equipment, hiring and training new staff, evaluating and training existing staff, cross training, reviewing all lab reports, client coordination, resolving conflicts, coordination with other departments and administrative requirements.

Key Criteria/Requirements
•    Graduation from High School or equivalent.
•    Good skills in math and communications.
•    Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples as a routine part of the job.
•    Valid Texas Driver’s License
•    Ability to acquire related certifications within 6 months of hire (ACI, TxAPA, etc.)

Preferable Additional Certifications:
•    ACI Level 1, ACI Strength, TxAPA 1B or 1A
