We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Construction Superintendent based in San Antonio who can lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all site logistics, including jobsite mobilization, signage, security, and neighbor relations.
  • Manage material logistics to ensure efficient receiving, staging, storing, and delivery processes.
  • Establish and maintain engineering controls, both horizontal and vertical.
  • Lead subcontractor pre-installation and weekly coordination meetings.
  • Enforce site utilization and laydown areas for subcontractors.
  • Assess and maintain labor, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including SWPP and environmental controls.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager for accurate material delivery and subcontract installations.
  • Identify under-performing subcontractors or team members early in the process.
  • Manage inspections and visits from third-party inspectors and the Owner/Design Team.
  • Complete all punch lists before project closure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience, plus at least 10 years of experience as a project superintendent in commercial public construction.
  • Experience with regulated projects such as K-12 schools and hospitals; residential or multi-family experience is not sought.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting legal documents, construction plans, and specifications.
  • Capability to create and manage Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules.
  • Skilled in performing quantity take-offs and preparing accurate manpower and material estimates.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Ability to track trades for reporting and billing purposes.
  • Competent in self-education on new concepts, methods, or materials.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective in managing subcontractor work to meet schedule, quality, safety, and budget objectives.
  • Adept at handling difficult personalities and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong leadership skills to develop a diverse project team.
