Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Concrete Superintendent to join our Construction team based out of Northern Nevada. In this role, you will monitor and organize self-perform planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and management of direct-hire craft. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. With the opportunity to work on Thacker Pass, this innovative EPCM project with Lithium Americas once complete, will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the country – enough to power 1 million electric vehicles annually! Join us in this full-time permanent role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion. 

Must be eligible for a TN VISA to work in the United States. 

Position will be a 6 on, 2 off rotation within the state of Nevada.  The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Monitors and organizes direct hire activities, through coordination management of direct-hire craft within the area of responsibility. 
  • Monitors construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. 
  •  Reviews construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. 
  • Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. 
  • Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements. 
  • Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management. 
  • Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. 
  • Coordinates engineering solutions with General Foremen, Foremen, and Craft Professionals. 
  • Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. 
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management. 
  • Coordinates with Design on constructability issues. 

 

Qualifications

  •  Technical University Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required. 
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in concrete operations; to ensure adequate coordination with batch plant and other stakeholders for smooth and safe execution of concrete activities at site. 
  • Experience managing union craft. 
  • Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience. 
  • Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring, and control. 
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility. 
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations. 
  • Knowledge of the "Zero Accidents" safety program. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. 
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
