Construction Estimator

Under general supervision, coordinates and administers activities related to reviewing contractor quotations or preparing itemized cost estimates for facilities renovation, repair and construction.

1. Provides itemized cost estimates for renovation and infrastructure construction projects based on proposed project scopes.  
2. During the construction phase, provides construction change order documents with description and cost information on proposed changes.  
3. Performs internal design reviews prior to completion of construction documents.  
4. Reviews and addresses final estimate questions or concerns from Institutional Departments.  
5. Assists design project managers in budgeting exercises. 
6. Performs all other duties as assigned.  

• Ability to read and interpret applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps.  
• Manages competing demands in a changing work environment; able to anticipate and work around delays or unexpected events.  
• Ability to multi-task, maintaining productivity working under extreme pressure to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency, along with making sure project deadlines are met.  
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field. 

LICENSES:

• Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record.
