We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team in the field of civil construction, with a primary focus on earthwork and utilities. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project costs and developing competitive bids, ensuring the successful execution of our commercial, ISD, state facility, and road projects.
Conduct comprehensive take-offs and material quantity calculations for earthwork and utility projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to accurately estimate costs, labor requirements, and project timelines.
Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses using company-provided software.
Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data to support accurate estimating.
Work closely with the project manager and company owner to refine project scopes and budgets.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to clarify project requirements and address inquiries.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and construction methodologies to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as an Estimator in civil construction, with a focus on earthwork and utilities.
Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and equipment.
Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision under tight deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
