Construction Inspector

About the Role:

Lumos & Associates is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Inspector to independently conduct inspections and field testing on public works construction projects. This position is perfect for those who enjoy a dynamic and rewarding role in construction oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts inspections and field tests as per project plans and specifications.
• Completes daily field inspection/testing reports.
• Interprets project plans and specifications, working autonomously to ensure compliance.
• Verifies the quality of materials and workmanship used on an assigned construction project.
• Issues stop-work orders when necessary and follows up on corrective actions.
• Attends project meetings and provides technical input as needed.
• Upholds safety standards and promptly reports safety concerns or required repairs to management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

Minimum of three years of experience in construction inspection or a blend of education, experience, and/or relevant certifications.

• Required Certifications:
  • ACI – Field Technician Grade I
  • NAQTC – Sampling/Density, R-66
  • OSHA – 10
  • Nuke Gauge Operator

• Special Inspector Specific Preferred Certifications:
  • ICC – Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • ATSSA – Traffic Control Supervisor

• Ability to work the hours necessary, including overtime, to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the job duties.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 75 pounds.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to travel regularly between offices with the use of a company vehicle.
• Valid driver's license and driving record with 3 or less demerit points.
