WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Manager for our San Antonio, TX office. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Job Description:
- Serve as Construction Manager responsible for construction administration and oversight of architectural and civil construction tasks in San Antonio Airport.
- Scheduling and managing subordinate staff for satisfactory project delivery, and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Preparation of monthly estimates, final estimates, and written and oral communication with contractors, inspection personnel, and utility companies.
- Responsible for maintaining WSP's positive working relationships with the project’s client and its' stakeholders, including government and private entities.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management from an accredited university
- Minimum of 12 years’ related experience in facility construction projects, including 24/7 active facility experience
- Terminal expansion experience with alternative delivery methods
- Communication, meeting, and presentation skills
- Proficient at plan reading and construction schedule reading and analyzing.
- Valid Class E driver’s license to operate a company vehicle to perform the duties of the position.
- Proven ability in successful delivery of construction projects including final estimate, schedule, and as-builts.
- Ability to read and understand all relevant construction contract documents to ensure all work performed is compliant
- Ability to efficiently lead weekly progress meetings, assemble meeting minutes, compile comments, and distribute minutes
- Knowledge of contract administration to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Experience in performing engineering analysis on complex contract administration issues, and the timely approval / denial of these issues using dispute management techniques
- Customer service experience related to resolving problems that involve explaining engineering concepts to various customer groups
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
