Your Opportunity
As a Construction Manager based in Las Vegas, Nevada, you will serve as a trusted owner’s representative for municipal wastewater utilities, providing senior-level oversight of construction activities and contract administration for wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and water reclamation projects. You will work closely with utility staff, regulators, and contractors to safely deliver treatment process upgrades, rehabilitations, and expansions – often within active facilities – while maintaining compliance, schedule, and budget.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction management services for municipal wastewater treatment plant projects, including process upgrades, rehabilitation of existing facilities, and capacity expansion projects.
- Oversee construction activities associated with treatment processes such as headworks, primary and secondary treatment, biological nutrient removal, tertiary treatment, disinfection systems, solids handling, and supporting facilities including pumping stations, blowers, and other rotating equipment.
- Act as a day-to-day liaison between the municipal utility, plant operations staff, contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies to support uninterrupted plant operations and public health protection.
- Perform constructability reviews during design and support development of drawings, specifications, and phasing plans appropriate for active WWTP environments.
- Review and respond to RFIs, prepare field orders, evaluate change requests, and support negotiations related to wastewater treatment plant construction.
- Review contractor pay applications and develop independent cost reasonableness estimates for changes and claims.
- Develop and manage inspection plans and staffing assignments based on contractor schedules, risk, and critical treatment processes.
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal requirements applicable to municipal wastewater facilities, including Nevada Department of Environmental Protection (NDEP) and applicable EPA regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to municipal utility safety requirements and project-specific safety plans.
QualificationsYour Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong understanding of construction management practices for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment processes, with emphasis on wastewater treatment plants.
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, technical specifications, construction contracts, and project schedules.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with public-sector clients, utility operations staff, and regulatory agencies.
- Effective communicator who can build trust with municipal stakeholders, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software is preferred.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, including active wastewater treatment plants and outdoor desert conditions typical of Southern Nevada.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction management experience on water and wastewater projects, including hands-on experience with wastewater treatment plants and process facilities.
