Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, in Augusta, Georgia, you'll primarily work in the field, directly contributing to project progress while upholding quality and safety standards. This hands-on role offers rewarding experiences as you see developments come to life.


What You'll Do:

  • Project Review & Reporting: Carefully examine project requirements before beginning on-site tasks; accurately record observations and material test results.
  • Data Management with Metafieldยฎ: Efficiently manage and input data using laboratory and field information systems.
  • Equipment Accuracy & Maintenance: Ensure testing tools are calibrated and meet industry compliance standards.
  • Standards-Based Testing: Perform material assessments and inspections in alignment with IBC guidelines.
  • Team Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with team leads, contractors, and clients to share progress and address concerns.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • Two(2) or more active certifications, a plus:
    • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
    • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
    • DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • Math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure

What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
