Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced
As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician, in Augusta, Georgia, you'll primarily work in the field, directly contributing to project progress while upholding quality and safety standards. This hands-on role offers rewarding experiences as you see developments come to life.
What You'll Do:
- Project Review & Reporting: Carefully examine project requirements before beginning on-site tasks; accurately record observations and material test results.
- Data Management with Metafieldยฎ: Efficiently manage and input data using laboratory and field information systems.
- Equipment Accuracy & Maintenance: Ensure testing tools are calibrated and meet industry compliance standards.
- Standards-Based Testing: Perform material assessments and inspections in alignment with IBC guidelines.
- Team Communication & Coordination: Maintain clear communication with team leads, contractors, and clients to share progress and address concerns.
What We're Looking For:
- High School diploma/GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
- Two(2) or more active certifications, a plus:
- American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
- International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
- DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete
- Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
- Math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure
What to Expect:
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
- Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
- Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
- Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
