Your Role: Hands-On, Strategic, and Client-Focused
As a Senior Construction Materials Engineer in Lexington, KY, you will lead diverse materials testing and inspection efforts for construction projects of various sizes. Your leadership and technical guidance will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality deliverables that align with client objectives.
What You'll Do:
Manage and oversee construction materials testing and special inspection services for large-scale and complex projects
Serve as a key client liaison to ensure project goals, timelines, and quality expectations are achieved
Lead local marketing efforts and support regional business development strategies
Prepare detailed proposals, accurate cost estimates, and ensure adherence to engineering codes and client specifications
Mentor junior staff and support their development in project management and customer service best practices
What We're Looking For:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Geotechnical, Mining, or Geological Engineering-or a closely related discipline
A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction materials testing and special inspections
A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
A solid understanding of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT protocols, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical evaluations
A willingness to engage in fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 lbs and safely navigating active construction zones
What to Expect:
With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Regular outdoor work across varying weather conditions
Traversing uneven surfaces and standing for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
Repeatedly lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of samples or gear
Operating and moving field equipment such as loaded wheelbarrows on active job sites
