Mission
of the Role:
The Construction Sales Manager is a
results-oriented professional responsible for generating leads, developing
client relationships, and closing sales for construction projects. They possess
a strong understanding of the construction industry, excellent communication
skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Responsibilities:
· Lead Generation and Development:
o Identify
and qualify potential clients through networking, industry events, and online
research.
§ Examples:
visit RE Offices, attend Open Houses, Represent FGP Home Services at
Tradeshows.
o Develop
and maintain a pipeline of prospective projects.
§ Examples:
conduct the job walks and follow up to get deals closed for our Senior Lead
Carpenters.
o Research
and analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities.
· Client Relationship Management:
o Build
and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, designers, and
other vendors.
§ Example:
Create and maintain a vetted subcontractor list.
§ Example:
Close partnerships with local companies and vendors such as hardware stores,
restoration companies, and insurance companies.
o Understand
client needs and provide tailored solutions.
§ Example:
Conduct Job Walks and review Home Inspection Reports.
o Act
as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the sales process.
§ Follow
up with the client at every step and build rapport for repeat business.
· Bid and Proposal Development:
o Collaborate
with estimating and project management teams to prepare accurate and
competitive bids.
§ Oversee
our Virtual Assistant and bid desk.
o Develop
compelling proposals that highlight the company's capabilities and value
proposition.
o Present
proposals to clients and negotiate contracts.
· Sales Strategy and Planning:
o Develop
and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
o Track
and analyze sales performance and provide regular reports to management.
o Stay
up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
· Networking and Industry Engagement:
o Attend
industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and generate leads.
o Build
relationships with industry associations and organizations.
o Represent
the company in a professional and positive manner.
· Contract Negotiation and Closing:
o Negotiate
contract terms and conditions to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
o Close
sales and ensure a smooth transition to the project management team.
o Work
with legal teams when needed on contracts.
· CRM Management:
o Maintain
accurate records of all sales activities in the company's CRM system.
o Use
CRM data to track leads, manage client relationships, and generate reports.
· Project
Management:
o Some
field experience may be required to assist the carpenters with projects on the
job sight as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or a related field preferred, but not necessary with sufficient field experience.
· Proven experience in construction sales, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
· Strong understanding of the construction industry, including materials, methods, and processes.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
· Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
