Construction Specialist

Job Summary:

As an EPC Construction Specialist at Centrus Energy, you’ll support field execution of critical infrastructure projects at the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio. From upgrading legacy systems to helping build next-generation uranium enrichment facilities, you’ll work in a highly regulated NRC environment where safety, quality, and precision are part of every task. This is a hands-on role where you’ll grow your expertise while contributing to projects that matter.
 

What You Will Do:

You’ll support field construction activities by helping ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with engineering design and project requirements. Working closely with construction managers, engineers, and contractors, you’ll assist with translating design documents into actionable field work, support work package execution, and help coordinate daily construction activities. You’ll participate in inspections, track field progress, help resolve RFIs and field issues, and ensure documentation such as permits, procedures, and as-builts are properly maintained. You’ll also support testing, commissioning, and turnover activities—playing a key role in delivering quality results in a highly regulated environment.

We’d Love to Hear from People With:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
• 3+ years of experience in construction, field engineering, or industrial project environments (nuclear, chemical process, oil & gas, or manufacturing preferred)
• Exposure to field construction activities, including work package execution, inspections, or coordination of contractors
• Basic familiarity with QA/QC processes, installation oversight (mechanical, electrical, or structural), or commissioning support
• Understanding of RFIs, field change processes, or construction documentation practices is a plus
• Experience working with contractors or subcontractors in a field environment
• Awareness of DOE or NRC environments or other highly regulated industries is a plus
• Basic knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA, NEC, or NFPA 70E
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance

A Successful Candidate:

• Possesses an active “Q” or Top-Secret Clearance

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.  Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made.  In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government.  Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
