We are currently seeking a highly motivated and qualified Construction Surveillance Technician with a Top-Secret security clearance to join our dedicated team.

Job Summary:

As a Construction Surveillance Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the construction activities at a data center facility to ensure compliance with security protocols, construction standards, and project specifications. You will work closely with the construction team, security personnel, and project managers to maintain the integrity and security of the site throughout the construction process.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 6 - 8 MONTH CONTRACT WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF AN EXTENSION.

TDY IS AUTHORIZED FOR THIS WORK.

WORK LOCATION: Aurora, CO

Position Summary:

  • Monitor construction work for project for compliance with the contract and Contractor-submitted plans.
  • Prepare Construction Representative's Reports for the site.
  • Prepare Contract Construction Compliance Notices.
  • Report instances of non-compliance with safety requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental protection requirements.
  • Monitor by witnessing the measurements and assurance surveying performed by the construction contractor.
  • Monitor all materials testing conducted by the construction Contractors and their testing laboratories. Review testing procedures and reports as received from the Contractor.
  • Witness testing of waste, gas, water, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, elevator, boiler and energy monitoring systems. Note results and provide recommendations for acceptance or rejection.
  • Review Daily Contractor Quality Control Reports and Contractor Production Reports.
  • Monitor the updating of Submittal Status Logs and conduct technical review of submittals.
  • Schedule pre-final and final inspections and assist in conducting pre-final inspections.
  • Review and Comment on Contractor's Requests for Payment.
  • Provide to the Government complete progress, record, and other construction photographs as follows: Report Progress Photographs, Completion Photographs, and Special Construction Operation Photographs.
  • Monitor and assure construction contractor field maintenance of "as-built" drawings.
  • Observes the work of personnel under escort to ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.
  • Reports non-compliance with safety, security, and scope of work to the Escort Supervisor, and escalates.
  • Immediately stops any unsafe and/or unsecure work to prevent injuries and security incidents.
  • Conducts metal detection screening of all personnel entering and exiting secure areas at the Datacenter to prevent the infiltration/exfiltration of unauthorized data bearing devices and electronics.
  • Collects and turns in the Shift Activity Reports (SAR) at the end of the shift.
  • Performs breaks and reliefs for Supplier personnel performing Services in Screening Officer(s) Roles.
  • Escalates information about incidents.
  • Completes the Shift Activity Report (SAR) and submits it to the Supplier personnel performing Services in the Control Room Supervisor at the end of their shift, or as directed.
  • Conducts proactive patrols looking for and reporting suspicious activity, property damage, malfunctioning equipment, policy violations, SOP compliance, and other government standards compliance, etc.
  • Provides First Aid/CPR/AED as required.
  • Completes patrol checklists and logs.
  • Covers breaks/reliefs for the Control Room Supervisor Role.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Supplier.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Must Possess an Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Must possess a DOS (Department of State) CST Certification.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in maintaining official construction site records.
  • Experience in conducting meetings to resolve problems on construction projects and briefing clients and management personnel.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and workmanship, including experience in proper uses of construction materials and installation methods.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications on construction projects.
  • Experience in the inspection of materials, workmanship and construction and installation of various systems within the inspector's area of expertise.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
