Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for financial oversight, strategic planning, and compliance within Falcon Construction. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, and implementing internal financial controls. The Controller serves as a key advisor to executive leadership on financial health and growth strategies. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Reporting
Manage and oversee all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Develop and maintain financial reports for executive leadership.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead financial planning processes, including annual budgeting and forecasting.
Monitor company cash flow and financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.
Provide strategic financial insights to support company growth initiatives.
Internal Controls & Compliance
Establish and enforce internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
Oversee tax compliance, filings, and audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for financial transparency.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
Supervise and improve A/P and A/R processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices for managing vendor payments and customer invoicing.
Support collection efforts to maintain strong cash flow.
Financial Strategy & Executive Liaison
Act as a key financial advisor to executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations.
Support financial decision-making through data analysis and reporting.
Assist in evaluating financial risks and opportunities for business expansion.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience with construction accounting and job cost reporting preferred.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting executive leadership with financial planning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-based role with minimal physical demands.
Occasional travel for financial audits, meetings, or site visits as required.
