Job Title: Crusher Plant Operator
Division: Gravel and Asphalt Materials
Location: Central Aggregate Area
Job Summary: Under the direction of the aggregate superintendent, the crusher operator is responsible to oversee the operation and maintenance of the crusher and other related equipment. Day, swing and grave yard shifts are possible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.
- Responsible for a safe work environment and the safety of crew.
- Function as the lead person on the crew and see that employees have proper instruction.
- Responsible for operation and maintenance of the crusher and all related equipment.
- Responsible for producing specification and sampling material.
- Ensure that oil changes, maintenance, and greasing are completed to schedule.
- Complete daily inspection records and weekly crusher operator reports.
- Maintain insurable driving record.
- Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI) knowledge is essential.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Sitting: 50% of the time.
- Standing: 50% of the time.
- Weight lifted: Up to 50 pounds.
- Physical Movement: Frequently required to climb, kneel, bend or twist, stretch and reach. Move arms and legs quickly. Be in good physical shape.
- Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate effectively with supervision, crew, and follow and deliver instructions, and understand safety requirements.
- Working Conditions: 75% of the time spent outdoors and subject to environmental elements and subject to moderate to loud noises.
