Job Title: Royal Jr. High School –CTE Construction Trades Teacher
Reports to: RJHS Principal/CTE-CCMR Director
Duty Days: 203 Days
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: Royal ISD Teacher Salary + $1500.00 SkillsUSA stipend
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years verifiable work experience in the Construction Trades industry.
Possess, or be eligible for a valid teaching certificate & must obtain Work-Based Learning endorsement.
Primary Purpose:
Work with students, teachers, parents, community partners, and Director of Career and Technical Education to implement and manage the CTE Construction Trades program at Royal Jr. High School. Courses taught will be within the framework of the goals and policy established by local, state, and federal statutes.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Teach Construction Trades Pathway courses specifically related to the Construction industry.
- Assist CTE Director with equipping, furnishing, and supplying the classroom and lab area at Royal Jr. High School.
- Be willing to attend certification classes and professional development opportunities.
- Work with multiple CTE teachers both at the campus and district level.
- Supervise student work sites through the work-based learning program. Interact effectively with the Royal ISD CTE-Advisory Committee.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects as required by law, district policy, or administrative regulations.
- Exhibit and encourage high professional and ethical standards.
- Support, communicate, and interpret district goals, policies, procedures, and directives to the staff under his/her direction and supervise their implementation.
- Professionally communicate and interpret district goals, policies, administrative procedures, and TEA regulations to the various publics.
- Maintain a positive image of the school by involving community members, business and industry, and agencies in a supportive role.
- Attend local, district, area and state CTE meetings as scheduled.
- Submit necessary forms in a timely manner- including, but not limited to travel, student trip forms, itineraries, project visitations, etc.
Equipment Used:
Computer, FAX, copier, overhead projector, and other specialized equipment that is particularly unique to the teaching assignment.
Primary Facility Responsibilities:
Construction Trades Classroom and Lab area.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead and direct student projects and work sites, as well as the Student Leadership Organization activities directly related to the program area.
