We are seeking a CWI / NDE Inspector to join our Idaho Falls/Pocatello, ID team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform inspections in accordance with International Code Council (ICC) AWS standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
  • Conduct on-site evaluations of reinforced concrete, masonry, and fireproofing for code compliance.
  • Document inspection findings accurately and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Issue correction notices and provide guidance to contractors and project managers on code-related issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICC codes, amendments, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with builders, engineers, and municipal authorities to resolve compliance issues.
  • Participate in continuing education and certification renewals to maintain ICC credentials.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance programs for construction projects.
  • Assist in laboratory testing and analysis of construction materials as needed.
  • Accurately track time, materials, and supplies used on assigned projects.
  • Maintain documentation of training hours and certifications as required.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails promptly and professionally.
  • Uphold a professional image for yourself and represent Atlas property standards at all times.
  • Complete daily timecards and expense reports at the end of each shift.
  • Support workload demands in Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and surrounding areas as directed.
  • Ensure all required safety documentation and reporting are completed in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Pursue new and maintain relevant certifications such as ACI, ICC, and WAQTC Testing Technician, etc.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Read and follow procedures.
  • 5 or more years of experience in welding/bolting phases of construction.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods of time, and work outdoors.
  • A valid driving license, with a clean driving record, proof of insurance.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, and random tests after hire.
  • Must have a professional work ethic, willingness to learn, and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Work in a cooperative and courteous manner with the public, contractors, supervisors, and other department staff.
  • Able to work (when needed) on weekends, out of town, early morning, or late evening hours.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Must Possess current ICC certifications in 1 or more of the listed: reinforced concrete, or masonry.
  • Must possess current ACI qualification in 1 or more of the listed: Field, SCC, Strength.
  • Possess current AWS CWI certification.
  • Possess one or more NDE certification such as: UT, MT, or PT.
  • Possess current ICC certifications in 1 or more of the listed: High-strength Bolting or Structural Welding.

Technical requirements:

  • Candidate will be required to pursue and maintain relevant certifications such as ACI, ICC, NDE, and AWS CWI.
  • General computer skills such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Advanced understanding of construction materials testing and inspection.
  • Basic mathematic and writing skills.
  • Communication through phone calls and email.
  • Knowledge of current AWS, IBC, and ACI specification manuals.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Ability to travel to surrounding area and possibly assist other locations.
  • Dress appropriate and meet safety requirements.
  • Practice defensive driving.
