Director of Safety – A Leadership Role with Real Influence and Growth

What You’ll Lead
Developing People & Building a Strong Safety Bench

Coach, mentor, and elevate regional Safety Managers, helping them grow into stronger leaders and strategic partners.

Create a culture of continuous learning through training, coaching, and shared best practices.

Empower teams to take ownership of safety performance and develop their own leadership capabilities.
Driving Safety Strategy & Organizational Impact

Partner with business and HR leadership to shape safety strategy for the Concrete line of business.

Influence decision‑making at the highest levels by using data, KPIs, and insights to guide operational improvements.

Lead cross‑functional initiatives that strengthen safety culture and support long‑term business goals.
Owning Key Programs & Compliance Excellence

Design and oversee Company, DOT, and OSHA safety training programs that build capability across the organization.

Lead the Silica, HAZCOM, Hearing Conservation, and Respiratory Protection programs with a focus on continuous improvement.

Ensure full compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and internal standards while identifying opportunities to exceed expectations.
Incident Leadership & Continuous Improvement

Guide teams through incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action planning.

Enhance tools and processes that track and analyze KPIs, using insights to drive proactive safety planning.

Maintain accurate documentation, including the Incident Log and Risk‑Connect entries.
Cross‑Functional Influence & External Partnerships
-
Collaborate with Fit For Work, insurance loss control partners, and internal stakeholders to strengthen safety outcomes.

Build strong relationships across operations, HR, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and shared accountability.
What You Bring
-
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or related field — or equivalent experience.

At least five (5) years of relevant safety leadership experience, ideally in a multi‑site or industrial environment.

Advanced knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations.

Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.

A leadership mindset: ethical, analytical, decisive, and committed to developing others.

Flexibility to travel and support operations as needed.

A deep commitment to safety and a professional, respectful approach in all interactions.
