CLIENT PARTNER PROFILE & VALUE PROPOSITION: LEAPROS has been engaged by a highly successful, publicly-traded company in their search for a standout Tax Director. This high exposure and newly created position oversees a team of 3+ analysts and reports directly to the CFO. To qualify, candidates must have a strong background in payroll and operational tax with a proven fastidious nature.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:​​​​​​

  • ​​​​​Responsible for effective tax planning for US Federal and State taxes, and all International taxes, to ensure we have the optimum structure and execution in place. 
  • Manage monthly and quarterly payroll tax filings and reconciliations
  • Is a business partner, with strong business sense, working with senior Finance and business leaders outside Finance to understand and effectively advise on tax planning matters. 
  • Responsible for completion of federal, international, and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support. 
  • Oversight of the tax returns for the Company’s international and domestic subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for Compliance of domestic and international income, sales/use tax, and management of third-party vendors. 
  • Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and state and local filings. 
  • Responsible for accounting for income taxes (SFAS No. 109) in the US and International subsidiaries. 
  • Coordination of accounting for income taxes for international subsidiaries with third-party vendors. 
  • Responsible for transfer pricing and management fee arrangements. 
  • Monitor tax law changes and performs or reviews tax research as needed.         
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes. 
  • Serve as liaison with Accounting and Finance team members on all tax-related matters. 
  • Assists in crafting external communications related to taxes, including for earnings releases and investor communications, in a clear and business-oriented manner. 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Tax. Master’s Degree in Business Taxation preferred. 
  • CPA required CTP Preferred
  • 6-10 years of related experience with at least 3 years in a public accounting firm.
  • International tax experience preferred
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment.  
  • Must demonstrate a conceptual and business-oriented approach to communicating taxes and tax planning, and be able to effectively communicate with and influence non-tax business leaders. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with great attention to detail.
