  • Need is for 1 Principal Level (15 years experience) and 2 Senior Level Engineers (10 years experience)
  • Pay Range is $100-$133/hour depending on benefits selected and years of experience.
  • GSA reimbursable per diem is available to those that qualify

Job Description
The purpose of this position is to provide essential technical knowledge and perform engineering work as described below. This position serves as a staff engineer performing engineering assignment of intermediate complexity.
  • Under direct supervision of the Discipline Lead Engineer or Area Lead Engineer, analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of intermediate complexity in accordance with project requirements
  • Develop and review specifications and design criteria
  • Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations; specify materials, equipment and systems; and solve technical problems of intermediate complexity
  • Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors and clients
  • Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures
  • Execute work in accordance with the approved project scope, cost and schedule baselines
  • Establish, control and report on material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
  • Provide technical support to activities associated with equipment and material procurement and subcontracting including scopes of work, technical bid evaluations and review of vendor submittals
  • Provide technical support to activities associated with construction administration including response to construction requests-for-information and field changes
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Job Requirements
  1. U.S. Citizenship required
  2. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering and minimum five (5) years of work-related experience
  3. Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standards
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to project
  5. management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  6. Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  7. Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards
  8. Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes and guidelines
  9. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  10. Intermediate computer and software skills to include proficiency in the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
  11. Experience providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services on commercial or industrial projects
  12. Proficiency executing EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment

Discipline Specific Job Requirements
  1. Create and modify electrical design drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagram layouts, raceway, lighting, and grounding)
  2. Perform complex system studies (e.g., short circuit, load flow, stability, motor starting, harmonics, relay coordination and ground grid)
  3. Develop area classifications and design documents
  4. Develop electrical design documents
  5. Perform electrical calculations such as short circuit, relay coordination, voltage drop, cable de-rating and cable pulling tension
  6. Prepare motor schematics and wiring diagrams

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Professional Engineer license
  2. Experience with design of systems, structures and components for nuclear facilities under the requirements of ASME NQA-1
  3. Practical field experience
  4. EPC project experience for the following industries:
    1. U.S Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agency
    2. Nuclear facilities under a nuclear quality assurance program
    3. Manufacturing, pharmaceutical or biotechnology
  5. Proficiency with Intergraph Smart3D (S3D)
  6. Proficiency with Visual Professional lighting design software
  7. Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems software (e.g., SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL), Electrical Transient and Analysis Program (ETAP), etc.)
  8. Intermediate knowledge of power systems
