POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled electrical designer/modeler to enhance our team. The Electrical designer will perform the initial project set up and coordinating the structural 3D models with the project architectural 3D models, design electrical systems for the projects assigned to him. This position will ensure electrical as well as BIM standards; conformance to company policies and guidelines to create, develop, and modify models and drawings; generate and compile construction documents; and coordinate with internal team members to ensure project deliverables and deadlines are met.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design electrical engineering systems and develop the associated 3D models from design concepts provided by engineering or project management staff. Work under the direction of the Engineers; and other team members as part of a coordinated design team to produce complex geometry, design layouts, detailed drawings, and other construction documents.


  • Modeling electrical designs into Revit and Autocad.
  • Set up Electrical drawing packages using architectural models for design use.
  • Create and complete drawings, schedules per Engineer direction.
  • Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts in Revit.
  • Cut and detail sections and assist in modifying designs.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans.
  • Documentation preparation and delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining BIM models and drawings.
  • Review 3D models for accuracy and compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Manage and store BIM files and related documentation.
  • Learning, advancing and staying up to date with new versions of revit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:


  • Five (5) years of experience utilizing Revit and Autocad software.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Electrical Engineering field.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to keep and handle confidential documents.
  • Familiarity with cloud collaboration platform BIM360.
  • Experience with Bluebeam.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills and personable demeanor.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to read and understand new and existing construction documents.
  • Demonstrate a sense of pride and adhere to high standards and quality in the project.
  • Multi-task between projects and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Understanding of basic Revit functions and processes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Potential to be around construction equipment when visiting job sites, be able to handle loud noises.
  • Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in an office environment.
