This salaried position is part of the Engineering Department, with a standard Monday-Friday day shift. However, occasional extended hours may be required.

Troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs, instrumentation, and drives on production lines using analytical and systems-based approaches.
Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvements and manage those improvements across multiple high-speed production lines.
Address gaps in automation and collaborate with Plant Systems teams to optimize PLC programs, documenting and reporting results.
Maintain and update engineering documentation, including drawings, manuals, process flow diagrams, and spare parts lists.
Design and modify electrical and control systems using CAD or other software.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure system reliability and address departmental needs.
Assess and improve manufacturing systems and machine reliability in abrasive environments.
Act as project manager for installation and improvement projects, developing specifications, justifications, and cost-benefit analyses.
Coordinate the design, planning, installation, and commissioning phases of projects with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Controls Engineering (or related field) from an accredited university.
At least 3 years of professional experience in a related role.
Extensive experience in PLC code development.
Experience with motion control systems, including VFDs and servos (Siemens preferred).
Electrical distribution troubleshooting and design experience, with knowledge of NEC standards.
HMI programming experience (Aveva preferred).
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences, including management, peers, and maintenance/operations personnel.
Analytical skills to apply mathematics, statistics, and engineering principles to resolve process issues.
Preferred Experience:
Field service engineering or technician background.
System integration and programming of third-party equipment.
Familiarity with Archestra System Platform.
Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in manufacturing.
Process control and PID tuning experience.
Roofing manufacturing or web process handling experience.
Knowledge of machine vision systems and IIOT devices.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Work is divided between office settings and production floors. Mandatory PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection.
Requires physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally).
Exposure to temperature fluctuations, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, and airborne particles.
May occasionally work with acidic or caustic chemicals and in confined spaces; respirator use may be required.
Noise levels range from moderate to loud, with hearing protection provided.
