Summary:

The Craft – Foreman is responsible for supervising crew members by ensuring productivity, safety, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

 

Requirements:

Client Relationship Management Accountabilities:

  • Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client’s expectations.


Planning: 

  • Reports information about site activities including routing, fence crossings, traffic flow, water flow, moving farm animals, and hazards to the Superintendent. 
  • Utilizes and direct staff for daily construction activities. 
  • Identifies potential workflow and staffing issues.
  • Evaluates on-site assessment prior to commencing work to ensure that the job is ready and address any concerns.
  • Translates general work requirements into a prioritized work plan and communicates it to the crew.


 Leadership: 

  • Directs, guides, and coaches Craft to ensure activities on site are understood and following established processes through quality checks.
  • Follows processes for systems and communication lines on site and ensure implementation is consistent.
  • Assists with managing Craft personnel.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures that project is utilizing Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Managements Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and technical procedures.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential employee relations issues.
  • Assigns tasks and oversees the execution of the work including quality and production. Inspects and measures completed work.
  • Prepares records and reports.
  • Recognizes, addresses, and resolves issues among crew members.


QA/QC: 

  • Manages quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the plan and are consistent.
  • Maintains work standards and outlines behavioral expectations to ensure morale, productivity, and safety.


Environment: 

  • Provides the required documents, drawings and other forms to active projects for monitoring and maintaining the EMS.
  • Ensures all required permits are received before commencing work.
  • Ensures training is provided and certifications are maintained on field staff to comply with EMS requirements.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.


Safety: 

  • Ensures that safety is the most important function and follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
  • Follows technical, quality, and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures. 
     

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 3 or more years of construction experience required.
  • Ability to travel domestically 76-100% required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

    • Continuous Improvement such as Lean, Six Sigma, Total Quality Management
    • Project Finance
    • Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Visio)
    • Job Costing or accounting software
  • Basic level of knowledge in:
    • Engineering Management
    • Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6)

Anticipate Pay Range: $36.00 -$41.00

 

Per Diem of $128.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
