Duties And Responsibilities
Performs skilled journeyman work as an electrician in maintenance, repair and renovation of buildings, equipment, and utilities for all university departments. Execute preventive maintenance program as per facilities standards. Prepare material lists for assigned tasks including non-stock and/or specialty items. Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve emergency calls during scheduled and non-scheduled working hours, including holidays. Incumbent will attend and participate in required training for the use of personal protective equipment and comply with requirements for use of employer provided equipment.

The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position works under all weather conditions, with high voltages. Position requires the transport of heavy materials and equipment. Work areas include roofs, poles, manholes and other difficult access locations. This position may transport up to 50lbs while ascending/descending stairs; perform overhead work; safely and effectively operate a wide variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Perform regular investigations of facilities systems and equipment which involve accessing confined areas, vaults, tunnels, ascending/descending roofs, catwalks, and ladders; and exposure to temperature extremes, noise, heights, energized/pressurized systems, and research-related activities.
