Position Summary
The Engineering Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. Specific competencies sought are knowledge and experience in facility design and construction, contractor management, project management, and estimate and schedule planning.

• Review project proposals and plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
• Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of the project and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Prioritize, adjust, and direct the efforts of personnel (including consultants and contractors) and resource allocations as necessary to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required. Prepare project reports for management or as required. Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems. Ensure that all projects (internal and external) are 100% complete according to established procedures.
• Provide assistance and technical expertise to the Maintenance Manager as required. Develop a strong working relationship with the maintenance organization to ensure appropriate support and skills are applied as needed.
• Continuously seek new technologies and automation efforts to improve the facility's performance and efficiency. Create and foster a “learning” environment within the engineering group.
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all plant departments. Develop a strong working knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance processes, as well as equipment operation.
• Interface with others in the organization to ensure that information is properly understood and acted upon. Utilize good communication skills and human relations skills.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Management experience is preferred.
