Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing project specifications and blueprints
- Conducting site visits to gather necessary information
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors
- Preparing cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
- Creating and submitting project bids
- Utilizing estimating software and tools
- Analyzing and managing project risks
- Communicating effectively with project stakeholders
- Constantly updating cost databases
- Negotiating and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluating and selecting cost-effective materials and methods
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Resolving discrepancies and issues related to estimates
- Attending project meetings and providing expertise
- Assessing and learning from project outcomes for future estimations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to perform accurate and detailed take-offs
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools such as Procore or PlanSwift
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
