Hass Co, LLC is actively seeking a driven and detail-focused Estimator to join our Houston-based team. This role is critical to our growth, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates that align with the company's goals. Key Responsibilities
- Estimating and Preconstruction
- Identify, review, and pursue new bid opportunities.
- Conduct thorough site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
- Accurately estimate project costs including labor, equipment, materials, and timelines.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine project scope.
- Perform detailed takeoffs for quantities, areas, volumes, and proportions.
- Develop competitive bids and ensure all bid documentation is complete and submitted on time.
- Coordinate closely with management to refine bid strategies and evaluate feasibility.
- Vendor & Cost Management
- Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure pricing accuracy and value.
- Negotiate pricing and evaluate supplier proposals for cost efficiency.
- Maintain and update cost databases, unit pricing, and historical cost records.
- Technical & Administrative
- Use estimating software, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools to support cost proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align estimates with company capabilities and goals.
- Prepare bid summaries and support presentations as needed.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in heavy civil or commercial construction.
- Familiarity with construction practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Certifications
- Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean record required.

Work Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday.
- Some travel required for site visits, pre-bid meetings, and job walks.
