RCR Telecon LLC is hiring experienced Fiber Splicers to support our growing fiber and broadband installation operations across Texas and Florida. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for the precise installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables in commercial and industrial environments. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and a commitment to accuracy and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables, both aerial and underground.
- Conduct end-to-end testing using OTDR, light source, and power meters.
- Interpret splice diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents to perform accurate fiber assignments.
- Install enclosures, terminals, panels, and other necessary fiber infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber networks, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Label and document all completed splices and test results accurately.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
- Work safely in outdoor environments, in bucket trucks, manholes, and in confined spaces.
- Collaborate with construction crews, project managers, and inspectors as needed.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and safety equipment in good working condition.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience splicing fiber optic cable.
- Proficient with OTDR, power meters, fusion splicers, and other fiber optic testing equipment.
- Strong knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber and associated connector types.
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, splice schematics, and construction blueprints.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- OSHA 10/30, Fall Protection, and Lift certifications preferred (or willing to obtain).
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and safety mindset.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required for occasional night work, weekends, or emergency callouts.
Work Location
Positions open in Texas and Florida. Regional travel required with provided vehicle and per diem.
