Summary:

The Field Construction Coordinator serves as the key liaison between the client, on-site teams, procurement, and project management to ensure seamless execution of construction projects. This role is responsible for coordinating field activities, supporting project planning, managing schedules, and translating project takeoffs into actionable tasks. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a background in construction or project management and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Job Scope and Tasks:

Project Coordination & Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, field crews, procurement, vendors, and internal project managers.
  • Communicate project requirements, updates, and changes clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Support the project manager in ensuring project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
  • Facilitate regular project progress meetings and document key action items.

 

Field Construction Support

  • Coordinate day‑to‑day field operations to maintain alignment with project plans.
  • Review project takeoffs and break them into detailed tasks, milestones, and material requirements.
  • Work with site supervisors to ensure work is executed according to scope, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to verify progress and gather information for reporting.

 

Scheduling & Planning

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with field activity timelines.
  • Monitor and track project progress against schedule, proactively identifying risks or delays.
  • Assist in resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and subcontractors.

 

Procurement & Materials Coordination

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and staged according to project needs.
  • Track material usage and reconcile discrepancies between field reports and procurement records.
  • Provide forecasts for upcoming material and equipment requirements based on task breakdowns.

 

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including task lists, site reports, schedules, and change logs.
  • Prepare status updates for project management and client stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation is stored and organized according to company standards.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 1–3+ years of experience in construction, field coordination, project management, or a related role.
  • Understanding construction processes, sequencing, and terminology.
  • Experience reading blueprints, project takeoffs, or technical drawings is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with field crews, vendors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Monday.com, Smartsheet).
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and convert them into actionable plans.

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office and field work; travel to project sites required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments.
  • Must maintain safety compliance at all sites.
