The Field Engineer position is critical as we build better communities by suppling better products.  Here are some of the things you will do:

 

  • Estimate and manage assigned construction projects.
  • Manage and review job estimates.
  • Assist in projection, organization, and implementation of project budgets.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and directing construction projects.
  • Work to resolve procedures, complaints and construction issues. 
  • Monitor and control assigned projects to ensure it is completed on schedule and within budget. 
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. 
  • Formulate reports concerning work progress, costs and scheduling. 
  • Review, understand, and adhere to all union contracts. 
  • Maintain insurable driving record. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving, and technical skills. 
  • Ability to review and analyze financial information. 
  • Strategic thinking skills. 
  • Proficient in HCSS, Heavy Bid, Microsoft Office; superior in Excel. 
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint software, primavera scheduling software, micro-satisfaction and inroads design software, Heavy Construction Systems Specialists (HCSS), Heavy Bid software, and basic surveying and measuring equipment. 
  • Ability to organize all aspects of the project and foresee and resolve project conflicts.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or construction management. 
  • Experience in management and road construction materials. 
  • Three to six months progressive estimating and project management.
