Overview

Position: Field Mechanic (Fixed Asset Maintenance - Batch Plants)

Division: Equipment 

Supervisor: Equipment Superintendent

 

Job Summary:

The Field Mechanic (Fixed Asset Maintenance - Batch Plants) will be responsible for scheduled maintenance of batch plants in commercial and industrial settings. They will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and company standards.

This is a full-time position with a competitive wage and benefits. This position will report to the Equipment Superintendent and work closely with production teams to ensure optimal performance of industrial machinery and equipment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Support, improve and standardize batch plant
  • Install and repair components related to batch plant
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on batch plant systems to ensure optimal
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and provide
  • Read and interpret batch plant schematics and
  • Participate in the teardown and setup of batch
  • Keep up to date with industry codes and standards and ensure compliance in all work.
  • Collaborate with other trades professionals, such as HVAC technicians or plumbers, as needed.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide recommendations.
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members, as needed.
  • Maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and Procedures

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Knowledge of batch plant functions and operation.
  • Familiarity with a variety of batch plants and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, pipe fitting and fabrication.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, if required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • DOT medical card.

Working Conditions:

 

  • Field Mechanic works full-time and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The work may require travel to different job sites.
  • Exposed to hazardous equipment, situations, and conditions. Sometimes will work outdoors at work site and indoors in the repair shop, exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Will also be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are uncomfortable and a variety of lighting conditions, from dim to light.

  • Weight lifted: Up to 50 pounds
  • Physical Movement: Will frequently kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend or twist body, use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, stretch, bend, push pull, lift, or carry heavy objects, support body for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Speaking / Listening: Needs to be able to communicate effectively with supervision, follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. Needs to be able to hear sounds and recognize difference between them as well as focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
