Position Overview
We’re looking for a dependable, safety-minded individuals to serve as Spotters / Flaggers to support an active steel erection site. This role is boots-on-the-ground and critical to keeping our crews safe.
You’ll control truck traffic, spot heavy equipment, maintain safe zones during crane picks, and make sure no one walks into a live lift area. If you’re alert, confident giving direction, and comfortable around cranes and ironworkers, this is for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Direct delivery trucks, forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment safely in and out of the work zone
- Act as a spotter during backing and lifting operations
- Maintain clear exclusion zones during steel picks
- Use standard hand signals and/or radio to communicate with operators
- Stop unsafe activity immediately and notify supervision
- Set up cones, barriers, and temporary signage
- Keep pedestrian traffic separated from active steel erection work
- Support the crew as needed to keep the job moving safely
What We’re Looking For
- Construction site experience preferred
- Previous spotter or flagger experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working around cranes, structural steel, and heavy equipment
- Strong awareness — you must stay alert at all times
- Clear communicator who isn’t afraid to speak up
- OSHA 10 preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for 8–10+ hours
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Lift up to 75lbs
- Wear full PPE at all times (hard hat, high-vis vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots)
