Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment General Foreman will oversee and manage civil equipment crews.
Must have 4+ years’ experience as a dirt operator, and 2+ years in a supervisory position.
Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below).
Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
Must have reliable transportation.
Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Identify all tools required for tasks.
Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
Manage multiple crews in regard to scheduling, processes and sequences, time, and cost. Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all civil processes.
Leadership Abilities
Ability to manage multiple crews.
Ability to plan out the workload for multiple crews and multiple processes.
Ability to perform all job duties of craft trade.
Ability to read and understand IFC drawings.
Understand when to stop production work and when an RFI needs to be initiated.
Read and understand craft specs and cut sheets, craft spec procedures, and recommendations
Plan work and execute
Ability to take drawings, required material, line out helpers and execute work
Equipment Knowledge - Basic maintenance (inspections) and Safe operations practices
Ability to find footage, utilize addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions to perform all craft duties.
Physical Requirements
Reports to Position
This position will be responsible for a crew of up to 5-15 craft workers. The crew will be a mix of foreman, journeyman, helpers, and laborers.
