Construction Coordinator (GIS)
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Construction Coordinator to lead the engineering coordination and quality control of large-scale FTTH and OSP fiber deployments. This role sits at the intersection of GIS, engineering, and field execution — ensuring highly constructible, permit-ready, and client-approved design deliverables from concept through final as-builts.
This position is ideal for a fiber design professional who understands GIS platforms, OSP architecture, and real-world constructability — and who can confidently manage engineering vendors while driving quality and schedule performance.
Engineering & Design CoordinationLead the end-to-end OSP engineering workflow for FTTH deployments from initial design through as-built completion.
Manage external engineering vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and highly constructible design packages.
Develop and improve engineering process flows to accelerate design cycles and reduce rework.
Review and approve design packages prior to client submission.
GIS & Technical Oversight
Utilize GIS platforms (3-GIS preferred) and AutoCAD to review and validate fiber network designs.
QA/QC fiber construction drawings, permit drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), splice sheets, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Ensure compliance with client OSP design standards and municipal requirements.
Identify routing conflicts, constructability risks, and permitting constraints early in the design phase.
Research and resolve cable path, placement, and right-of-way challenges.
Quality Control & Compliance
Establish and maintain high-quality design standards across all engineering deliverables.
Troubleshoot equipment, layout, and design-stage discrepancies.
Track revisions, corrective actions, and updates through final approval.
Partner with field construction teams to resolve design-to-field conflicts.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Coordinate with deployment, permitting, construction, and client teams to ensure alignment on scope and schedule.
Communicate technical issues clearly across engineering and field stakeholders.
Support network relocations, upgrades, and new development builds.
Represent engineering progress, risks, and milestones to internal and client leadership.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience supporting FTTH or OSP fiber infrastructure projects.
Experience supporting or constructing outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber networks.
Strong understanding of fiber construction workflows from design through deployment.
Preferred qualifications:
Expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 3-GIS, and AutoCAD drafting capabilities.
Comprehensive knowledge of Fiber Optic network equipment, various OSP architectures, splice operations, configuration, and overall system design.
Knowledge of BOM creation, including material research for different markets and OSP architectures.
Knowledge of SS creation and an ability to identify SS issues that originate in various design stages.
Ability to create and review Fiber Construction Drawings for various architectures.
Knowledge of ROW/easements for various municipalities and experience with local city utility permitting.
Knowledge of SLD creation at the F1 and F2 level projects.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Google G-Suite, including drive, docs, sheets, drawing, and presentation.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
Intermediate working knowledge of Google Earth/Maps.
Exemplary communication skills with excellent presentation skills. Ability to represent projects from business, product, and technical perspectives.
Excellent time management.
