Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the successful completion of a new grocery store construction project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing commercial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on grocery store development.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Provide overall leadership and direction for all aspects of the grocery store construction project.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage the work of subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule.
  • Cost Management: Monitor and track project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to control expenses.
  • Safety Management: Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel on the job site.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including the owner, architect, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Quality Control: Review and approve shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve construction issues and challenges that arise during the project.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure that the project is completed in accordance with all applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily logs, meeting minutes, and progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent.
  • Proven experience in the successful completion of new grocery store construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of commercial construction, from sitework to finishes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety and a proven ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
