Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Inspects and maintains augers, guns and hose(s) to ensure that all are in proper working condition for safe operation.  Makes repairs as necessary and immediately reports any deficiencies which may present safety or quality concerns to the supervisor. They are responsible to mainlining the gunite guns.
  • Maintains constant visual contact with the gunite crew and uses established methods of communication, such as hand signals, to insure proper material flow to the nozzle.
  • Assists gunite crew with placement of plastic to protect area surrounding equipment and work areas.
  • Lubes all chains on batch truck daily, keeps mixing augers chipped, cleaned & greased daily, and checks fluid levels in the truck and compressor daily.
  • Batch truck drivers and gunmen are responsible for whips and bull hoses and chain plates.
  • Maintains a strict adherence to company policies, safety policies, DOT/OSHA regulations at all times.
  • Possesses a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public.
  • Regularly climb up and down into or out of the cab of the vehicle and climb up and down the rear ladder or rear access point of the vehicle during loading and unloading. Must use 3 points of contact and comply with safety policies for working at heights.
  • Stands for long periods of time performing loading and offloading of materials in hot weather or current conditions
  • May perform other related duties as required or directed. Including to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Regular and timely attendance is required.
  • Must be able to drive an automatic transmission and occasionally a manual truck.
  • Must pass pre-employment requirements, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

 

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid and current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License or equivalent, and a valid medical DOT card.
  • Two years of commercial vehicle driving experience preferred.
