Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heat Treatment Technician to join our team in Sand Springs. This position is responsible for setting up and performing controlled heat treatment processes to counteract the high-temperature effects of welding. Additional responsibilities include executing thermal applications such as hydrogen bake-outs, pre-heating, refractory curing, and heat alignments, in accordance with industry codes and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

·         Load, assemble, disassemble, and maintain heat-treating equipment.

·         Secure thermocouples using capacitor discharge units.

·         Install and remove thermal heating pads, electrical resistance heaters, induction coils, and insulation.

·         Utilize hand and light power tools during operations.

·         Distribute and connect secondary power cables to heating elements and thermocouples.

·         Monitor and control temperature measurement devices, digital process controllers, and computer systems.

·         Operate portable control systems, including generators.

·         Read, interpret, and implement technical documents, codes, and quality programs relevant to heat treatment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Clear communication skills and a professional demeanor when working with team members, clients, and supervisors.

·         Ability to analyze job specifications and technical documentation related to heat treatment processes.

·         Proficiency with digital controls, measurement instruments, and equipment-specific software.

·         Understanding of metallurgy, heat transfer, combustion, and electrical principles.

·         Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, schematics, and blueprints.

·         Strong trade math skills, including unit conversions and calculations for mass, volume, and electrical requirements.

·         Capable of maintaining detailed work records and supervising team members during procedures.

·         Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with heat treatment equipment and installations.

·         Knowledge of industrial site safety, including confined space, fall protection, and working at heights.
