Summary:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues and carrying out repairs on heavy equipment used for road maintenance and construction. Key duties include providing mechanical support, performing preventative maintenance, and installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing various heavy machinery in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair trucking fleet, paving equipment, stabilization equipment and crushing equipment.
  • Perform routine truck and equipment maintenance.
  • Use CAT ET diagnostic tool to test vehicle components.
  • Perform quality inspections prior to returning the truck or equipment to field.
  • Adequate use of CAT SIS WEB for ordering parts.
  • Preform PMs on all equipment and trucks in our fleet. Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar, HAMM, Wirtgren, and John Deere Equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with experience using HCSS Mobile Mechanic a Plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Education:

  •  The minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED
  •  Formal training or vocational program in heavy equipment repair or related field

Experience:

  • Mechanical Knowledge: 5 years+

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License 

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability
