Wood is currently expressions of interest for a High Voltage Electrical Construction Specialist position. This role will be responsible for oversight of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables 
  • Supervises all areas on small projects and / or a subset / discipline on larger projects 
  • Responsible for management and execution of one or multiple field disciplines or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company’s operating policies and principles.
  • Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project. 
  • Ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan. 
  • Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
  • Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and
    Safety and site-specific inductions. 
  • Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements.
  • Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required.

Expected:

  • An appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 20 years of experience in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in Industrial construction projects including Manufacturing, Laboratories, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Food/Beverage is highly desired..
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing requirements to a wide range of client groups (internal and external)
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, or in a team environment, and provide leadership, support, direction, and consultation
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to proactively detect challenges to safety, quality, cost and schedule that will ensure development and execution of effective prevention, mitigation, or corrective actions
  • Able to establish and maintain a positive and effective customer relationship, ensuring payment terms are met, and communicating any delays.
  • Well organized, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Ability to work with timelines/targets.
