This position provides projects with technical expertise in Nuclear HVAC requirements. Leads discipline engineers in providing technical assistance to construction management.
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Coordinate the completion of construction activities in assigned systems and prepare punch lists to ensure the readiness of systems for release for turnover to the client or for start up
• Maintain liaison with the design engineer to schedule and coordinate the release of construction design documents in support of the construction schedule
• Provide marked-up drawings and information required for the preparation of as-built drawings
• Interpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings are reviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings.

The HVAC Lead Field Engineer is responsible to the Project Field Engineer for development and implementation of the HVAC Field Engineering Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The HVAC Lead Field Engineer shall be responsible to:
• Act as the point of contact (POC) and subject matter expert (SME) for Construction HVAC issues
• Understand and support implementation of the Advanced Work Package Program (AWP)
• Oversight and support of the HVAC Field Engineers
• Oversight of Subcontract HVAC Work
• Act as point of contact with Design Engineering to understand design requirements and resolve design issues
• Develop HVAC installation procedures
• Perform HVAC Constructability Reviews on the project
• Assess and ensure adequate field engineering to support productive HVAC field operations
• Provide HVAC estimating support as required to support project needs
• Ensure HVAC supervision and craft are provided the necessary information to construct the HVAC work as designed
• Assist support organizations as necessary to eliminate work constraints
• Develop and maintain working relationships with HVAC superintendents to support timely and productive installation of the HVAC scope of work

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and fourteen (14) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

• Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations
• Experience developing and implementing HVAC field engineering programs and processes, including installation and testing means and methods on large capital project, EPC preferred
• Experience and working knowledge of developing HVAC estimates
• Experience with HVAC labor productivity tracking
• Experience in HVAC work package planning
* Related experience includes positions held as an HVAC field engineer or HVAC lead supervisor on heavy industrial, power, or nuclear construction projects; preference given to candidates with Major EPC Project experience.• US citizenship
• The ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and specifications is required.
• Recent experience as an HVAC lead field engineer on large scale NNSA/DOE/Petrochemical/Commercial nuclear EPC project is required.
• Familiarity with nuclear quality (e.g. NQA-1) and commercial quality practice standards is preferred.
• A working knowledge of national consensus codes and standards related to the respective candidate’s discipline is required. This would include SMACNA ASME and AWS.
• Candidates should be self-starters, highly motivated, requiring minimal supervision, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Provide input to project controls regarding progress measurement and quantity surveys
• Provide feedback to Contracts department on subcontractors claims to progress
