Summary/Objective

The Pipefitter lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems, applying knowledge of system operation and following blueprints.

Essential Functions

• Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment according to specifications.
• Plans installation or repair to avoid obstructions and to avoid interfering with activities of other workers.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe.
• Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.
• Connects pipe and secures to structure.
• Installs and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Other job functions: May assist other trades as directed by the job superintendent.
• Must be physically healthy to stand, bend, and walk for up to 8 hours per day.

Required Education and Experience

One year of pipefitter experience preferred but not required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must hold a Regular Operator (Class D) driving license. Applicant must have no felonies that are violent in nature and/or theft related in the last 7 years. Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from job site. High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Job Salary and Benefits
* 40 hours per week or more.  Overtime may be required for this position
