The Role: Integration Technician

As an Integration Technician at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what�s possible in AI, cloud and enterprise data center needs. Your work will directly impact the future of technology and the sustainable growth of the Internet.

In this position you  will support the installation and commissioning of all new critical support system to include, but not limited to: UPS, PDU, ATS, HVAC support systems, generators, power distribution, monitoring, and control systems. You will work to find creative ways to keep operational costs to minimum and will work outside of the box with team members to improve efficiency.

What You�ll Do

  • Work with General, Electrical, and Mechanical contractors to ensure installations meet Switch standards.
  • Work with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to commission and functionally test new systems.
  • Test installed systems and components to ensure proper functionality and performance and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions.
  • Observe appearances and conditions and report safety hazards and/or concerns.
  • Maintain an inventory of required tools and supplies.
  • Assist in ensuring customer compliance with Switch AUP.
  • Install, assemble, and integrate various components and systems according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ensure different systems and components work seamlessly together, often involving complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations.
  • Perform in-process and final quality control inspections to ensure all work meets the required standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any issues encountered and resolutions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on installed systems and equipment as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Able to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively with personnel. associated with the datacenter environment.
  • Able to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution.
  • Able to work individually and stay on task.
  • Able and comfortable climbing and working from ladders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, electrical, mechanical and plumbing knowledge, and experience with hand and power tools. Prior experience with electrical or mechanical equipment is a plus
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with various systems and components.
  • Ability to understand and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems related to system integration and functionality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work.
  • Meticulous in following procedures and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations, procedures and OSHA regulations related to construction work and/or and industrial environment.
  • Able to work in live equipment and comfortable performing hot work after your probationary period with 100% supervision, PPE in compliance with current NFPA 70E, and with approval of both your supervisor and manager.
  • Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Able and willing to travel frequently as this position is on the road traveling to the various sites 80% of the time.
  • At least two or more years of relevant experience in construction, manufacturing, or related fields working with relevant tools, equipment, and technologies related to construction and system integration.
  • Prior Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design software for planning and visualizing integration work.
  • A degree or certification in construction technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is a plus.
