Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Duties

  • Calculate costs based on blueprints, drawings, maps, or other reference materials provided by architects or engineers.
  • Utilize Bluebeam/Revit, Agtek, and Rhino to perform takeoffs of earthwork, concrete, and utilities
  • Compile estimates of labor costs and material costs to prepare bids for construction projects.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain bids for materials and services needed for construction projects.
  • Review bids from vendors to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Input takeoff information into HCSS
  • Assisting in selecting subcontractors or suppliers that meet specific project requirements.
  • Interpret plans and specs to communication project needs to the estimating team.
  • Work with Estimator/Senior estimator on project teams. 
  • Attend pre-bid meetings.
  • Develop estimating meeting material books.
  • Learn and develop into an Estimator.

Past Experience

  • Previous Heavy Civil Construction experience a plus
  • Knowledge of estimating takeoff tools
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Microsoft Office including Excel, Project, and word

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
